Healthy Eating

Soy, Health, Cancer

Women who eat traditional Japanese soy-based foods on a regular basis face lower risks of breast cancer, a Japanese government-sponsored study reported today. But read the small print.

The Healthy Eating Debate

Recently we had reason to write about Michael Pollan's book in Defense of Food (we'll post that article soon). Quite by chance we then came across Yoni Freedhoff's Weighty Matters. I think we're on the same page. It's Canada based but don't let the narrow geographical focus put you off. This is an important blog. Why?

BBC Removes Complimentary Medicine Content

This may not affect the majority of our readers - who tend to be from the USA - but the BBC website is one of the most accessed in the world and is truly global in coverage. Belgian by birth, chocolatier Pierre Marcolini's  parents hail from  Verona, the same Italian city where the Capulet and Montague children, Romeo and Juliet, lived and died. "The ville d'amour" says Marcolini, and claims, with a light laugh, that this is where his love of chocolate began.
